Helicopter Body

3D render of the Helicopter Body model. The body has a rounded cockpit at the front, a long tail boom at the back, landing skids underneath and a vertical post on top where a rotor could sit. The shape is smooth and simplified, with the helicopter silhouette doing most of the work.
A rendered preview of this model. An optional interactive 3D view is below.

The 3D preview is optional. Activate the button to load it. Once it appears, use the left and right arrow keys to rotate, the up and down arrow keys to tilt, and the plus and minus keys to zoom. A Top-down view button looks straight down at the model, laying flat pieces like boards, cards and maps out as if on a table. A Reset view button returns the camera to its starting position. A full text description and download are provided below and do not require this preview.

About this model

I made this as an early helicopter body model in OpenSCAD. It is a simple toy-like shell rather than a detailed scale model, with the main shapes kept clear and easy to understand.

What it looks like

The body has a rounded cockpit at the front, a long tail boom at the back, landing skids underneath and a vertical post on top where a rotor could sit. The shape is smooth and simplified, with the helicopter silhouette doing most of the work.
