About this piece
I designed this as a full tactile version of Stratego, not a simplified substitute. The modular board prints in interlocking sections and uses recessed squares with D-shaped peg holes, so each piece locks into its forward-facing position and does not spin around while the board is explored by touch. Each upright piece measures 32 x 12 x 55 mm and carries its rank in several ways: Braille for private reading, raised rank icons and high-contrast printed characters. The D-shaped peg is about 10 mm across the major diameter, 8.6 mm across the flat side and 7.3 mm high. The set is designed for real gameplay, including the full army structure with Flag, Bombs, Spy, Scouts and ranked pieces.
Why I made it this way
- I use modular interlocking board tiles so a large game can still be printed on normal machines.
- I use D-shaped pegs so pieces stay oriented and hidden ranks do not get exposed accidentally.
- I put Braille on the back so a blind player can read their own army privately.
- I add raised icons and high-contrast text so the same pieces work for sighted and low-vision players.
- I made this because accessible games should include strategy, not only simple children's games.
What arrives
If you choose the printed option, I send the board sections and pieces cleaned, checked and ready for play. I check the fit of the board connectors and the D-shaped pegs before shipping.
Printing and finishing
I make printed orders to order in Denmark. I inspect the print, clean the edges, check the moving and fitting parts, and pack it safely before shipping.
