I designed this stroller sign for myself as a blind dad, so people around me can understand why I may need extra space and patience when both hands are on the pram.

The interactive 3D preview is optional. I include the written description, photos and printed details on this page, so you do not need the preview to understand the design. It only loads when you activate it.

The 3D preview is optional. Activate the button to load it. Once it appears, use the left and right arrow keys to rotate, the up and down arrow keys to tilt, and the plus and minus keys to zoom. A Reset view button returns the camera to its starting position. A full text description and download are provided below and do not require this preview.

About this piece

I designed this because pushing a stroller while holding a white cane is not simple. The cane is often what tells people to slow down, give space or be patient, but with a stroller I may need both hands free. The sign is a 200 x 150 mm plaque with a raised border, divider bar, the ISO 7001 PI AC 009 blind or low-vision symbol and two bold text lines. The default Danish text is "Vis hensyn / Jeg er blind", meaning "Be considerate / I am blind". Four 12 x 2 mm magnets sit in the sign, and four separate 16 x 15 mm grab cylinders sit on the other side of the stroller fabric to hold it in place. This is an awareness aid, not a replacement for a cane, guide dog or mobility skills. Keep magnets and small parts away from children at every stage.

Why I made it this way

  • I use the official ISO 7001 blind or low-vision symbol so the message is clear.
  • I use magnetic mounting so there is nothing to strap, tie or tighten one-handed.
  • I make the text, language, size and magnet dimensions editable in OpenSCAD.
  • I designed it to mount outside the stroller, with fabric between the magnets and the child.
  • I recommend PETG if you print it yourself for regular outdoor use.

What arrives

If you choose the printed option, I send the sign and magnetic grab cylinders cleaned, checked and ready for you to add magnets. Contact me before ordering if you want different wording or another language.
