About this piece

I know a lamp sounds like a strange project for a blind designer, but I like functional objects that are logical, adjustable and useful. This Easter egg lamp is built from a base and a screw-on egg shade, with a perforated shell that lets light through. The finished assembly is about 198 x 116 x 150 mm. The base is designed around a small low-heat LED puck, with a 60.5 mm cavity, cable cutout and pushout hole. The shade uses a matching printed thread and a perforated pattern, so the lamp works as a soft accent light and as a textured object when it is off.

Why I made it this way

  • I use a screw-on shade so the lamp can be opened without awkward clips.
  • I route the cable through the base so the print stays tidy.
  • I designed it around low-heat LED puck lights, not hot bulbs.
  • I made the dimensions parametric so the shade, base and light cavity can be adjusted.
  • I kept the geometry FDM-friendly and support-free where possible.

What arrives

If you choose the printed option, I send the base and shade cleaned, checked and test-fitted. Use only a low-heat LED light source. Do not use a hot bulb or any light source that can soften plastic.

Printing and finishing

I make printed orders to order in Denmark. I inspect the print, check the thread fit, clean the edges and pack it safely before shipping.
