About this piece
I love fantasy, and I wanted to see how far I could push OpenSCAD beyond practical mechanical objects. This dragon is an original procedural design made from scratch, without scans, AI mesh generation, kitbashing or remixing. The full-size model is about 212 x 278 x 110 mm, with a smaller version around 106 x 139 x 55 mm. I built it as a stylised wyvern with large membrane wings, a ridged spine, curled tail, claws, horns and exaggerated proportions that are interesting to explore by hand.
Why I made it this way
- I used procedural OpenSCAD modelling to create an organic fantasy creature through code.
- I gave the wings, tail, claws and spine strong tactile shapes.
- I made the silhouette readable from different angles.
- I kept the model scalable so it can work as a display piece or smaller collectible.
- I made it as proof that accessible design tools can also create playful, expressive objects.
What arrives
If you choose the printed option, I send the dragon cleaned, checked and ready to display. Thin wings, horns and claws need careful handling.
Printing and finishing
I make printed orders to order in Denmark. I inspect the print, clean the edges and pack it safely before shipping. If you print it yourself, supports may be needed depending on your slicer and chosen size.
