See this design in 3D

The interactive 3D preview is optional. I include the written description, photos and printed details on this page, so you do not need the preview to understand the design. It only loads when you activate it.

The 3D preview is optional. Activate the button to load it. Once it appears, use the left and right arrow keys to rotate, the up and down arrow keys to tilt, and the plus and minus keys to zoom. A Reset view button returns the camera to its starting position. A full text description and download are provided below and do not require this preview.

About this piece

I made this because an accessible version of a simple game should not be expensive or complicated. The board has deep recessed grid pockets, so each X or O sits firmly in its square and the whole position can be read with one sweep of the hand. The set prints as a 175 x 219 x 13 mm open layout. Each board leaf is 109 mm square, with 29 mm cells, 7 mm pocket depth and 27 mm pieces. The print-in-place hinge is built into the case, so the board folds shut for travel and keeps the pieces inside. Small magnet pockets are included for a cleaner closure.

Why I made it this way

  • I use deep pockets so placed pieces do not slide around while the board is read by touch.
  • I make X and O pieces distinct by shape, not colour alone.
  • I use a print-in-place hinge so the case folds without assembly.
  • I designed the closed case to keep the pieces together during travel.
  • I made it simple to print on a standard FDM printer.

What arrives

If you choose the printed option, I send the board and pieces cleaned, checked and ready to use. I test the hinge and piece fit before shipping.

Printing and finishing

I make printed orders to order in Denmark. I inspect the print, free and check the hinge, clean the edges and pack it safely before shipping.
